Software Engineer

Full Time, Salary Position

Responsible for the planning and purchase of a wide variety of materials, supplies, and equipment.

Purpose

To develop and maintain in-house Engineering design software for use across all business locations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in the following work:

    • Object oriented design and programming

    • C# .NET programming for Windows based personal computers using Microsoft Visual Studio

    • Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0 management

    • Creating and modifying IIS web services in .NET C# for database access

    • Microsoft Team Foundation Server use for source code backup

    • Microsoft SQL database management for table and field design and security

    • Debug and update existing C# .NET code base using Microsoft Visual Studio

 

Additional Experience Helpful

  • Microsoft Team Foundation Server management

  • Developed C# .NET unit tests

  • Developed user help system documentation in a personal computer program

  • Development using UML and/or other techniques to clarify design specifications to non-software personnel

  • Major refactoring to improve preferred object oriented constraints and/or regression testing

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Self-motivation

  • Personal research and communication skills to establish user preferences and design criteria

  • Ability to enhance, debug and maintain existing C# .NET programs and keep them viable as technology changes

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Visual Studio to debug and analyze existing C# .NET programs

  • Analyzing information

  • General programming skills

  • Software design

  • Software debugging

  • Software documentation

  • Software testing

  • Problem solving

  • Teamwork
