Electrical Design Engineer - Sr. Electrical Design Engineer

Full Time, Salary Position

Summary

Delta Star Inc. is seeking a skilled and innovative Electrical Design Engineer to design and engineer medium voltage, mobile power transformers and mobile substations. If you're passionate about creating cutting-edge designs, developing new rules, and delivering high-quality solutions that meet customer and industry requirements, we want to hear from you!

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll play a vital role in designing and engineering the electrical components of medium voltage, mobile power transformers and mobile substations. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new design rules, address unique project requirements, and ensure bids and designs align with technical and customer

 

Specific Duties​

  • Design the electrical components of transformers based on project specifications and existing design standards.

  • Develop new design rules for projects that extend beyond the established product scope.

  • Create transformer designs to fulfill bidding requirements and ensure compliance with technical specifications.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with production capabilities and quality standards.

  • Provide technical support and expertise to address design-related challenges during the production process.

 

Education & Experience

Electrical Design Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent (foreign degrees accepted).

  • 2-7 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering or power transformer design.

  • Licensure is not required for this position.

Senior Electrical Design Engineer:

  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent (foreign degree accepted)

  • At least eight (8) years of prior relevant experience.

  • Must exhibit superior design knowledge in all categories.

  • Capable of checking and verifying designs.
     

Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer. Must live or be willing to relocate to within a reasonable safe commute to the Lynchburg, VA plant.
 

Skills & Competencies​

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of transformer design principles and industry standards.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
