CNC Support Specialist

Full Time, Salary Position

Member of the Fabrication Operation team supporting daily machining programs for production processes. Working closely with manufacturing team members to specify, develop new and modify existing programming to support production requirements.

Acts as a liaison between product design engineering and production teams, supporting new solution implementation while applying lean manufacturing principles and focusing on manufacturability.

Main Responsibilities

Support daily machining requirements with sustainable programing.
Suggests, evaluates, implements multiple manufacturing projects from beginning to end.
Evaluates, develops, and implements machining processes on current or future assets.
Assists with capital equipment including evaluation, selection, run-offs, and implementation.
Maintains manufacturing best practices including precision machining, lean manufacturing, and machine tool / tooling technologies.
Participates in special projects including NPD, insourcing, productivity, and capital procurement.
Designs nesting, grouping of like parts, and fixtures using 3D modeling software.
Develops time studies in Process times and Cycle times.
Assists machine tool installations throughout the entire process.
Supports production efforts through troubleshooting manufacturing issues.
Ensures compliance with Quality standards.
Supports safety and environmental practices.
Performs other duties assigned by immediate supervisor.

Education, Training & Experience

Completion of accredited CNC training program required
Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree preferred
Minimum three (3) years of experience in supporting manufacturing operations through extensive CNC programming and process improvement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

In-depth knowledge of CNC Programming, CAD / CAM / CAE, MS Office Software, and MS Project
Competent in advanced engineering drawings including GD&T and tolerance analysis.
Solid understanding of mechanical assembly and machining processes and overall manufacturing operations.
Ability to prioritize tasks and carry out root cause analysis.
Fluent using inspection tools, techniques, and their application to engineering requirements.
Ability to communicate at all levels internally, customers and suppliers.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques and ability to create standard work.
Comprehensive understanding of machining operations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
